Orion is a Los Angeles web design studio. We design, build and maintain websites for LA businesses that need the site to actually do something — book appointments, qualify leads, sell inventory — not just look expensive on a laptop in a pitch deck.
Most people searching for a web design agency in Los Angeles are not shopping for pixels. They are trying to fix a specific business problem: the phone stopped ringing, the site loads slowly on mobile, a competitor started outranking them, or the last developer disappeared and nobody can edit the homepage.
A real agency starts by naming that problem out loud before touching a design tool. That means asking what a customer is worth to you, where your current traffic comes from, what happens after someone fills in a form, and which of your pages already earn money. If a Los Angeles agency sends you a proposal before asking any of that, they are quoting a template.
Everything else — the moodboards, the animation reels, the brand manifesto — is optional. Useful sometimes, but optional. The six items above are not.
Google treats mobile page experience as a ranking signal, and most LA service businesses we audit fail Largest Contentful Paint on 4G. Fixing that is usually cheaper than a redesign and moves rankings faster.
Six services, each priced and scoped separately. You do not have to buy the whole thing.
Original layouts designed around your offer and your customers, not a marketplace theme with your logo dropped in. Every page gets one job.
WordPress, Shopify or a headless front end — chosen for how your team works, not what we prefer. Handover includes a Loom walkthrough and documentation.
Schema, internal linking, Google Business Profile, LA-specific landing pages and the crawl fixes that let all of it get indexed.
Core Web Vitals work: image pipelines, font loading, render-blocking scripts, caching. Usually the fastest win on an existing site.
Storefronts measured on revenue per session. Checkout friction audits, product page templates, merchandising that a non-developer can run.
Updates, backups, uptime monitoring, security patching and a real person who answers within four business hours.
Real ranges from LA agencies in 2026, including ours. Anyone quoting a flat price before a discovery call is guessing.
We ask about the business before the website. What does a customer pay you, how do they find you now, and what is the one thing that would make this project a success. You leave the call with an honest read on whether you need a new site at all — sometimes the answer is no, and we say so.
We pull your analytics, run a crawl, check Core Web Vitals on real mobile hardware, and look at what the other LA businesses ranking above you are doing. You get a written plan with a page map, a scope, and a fixed price. No surprises after signature.
Homepage and two key templates first, in the browser, at real breakpoints. Not static mockups that fall apart on a phone. Two rounds of revision are built into the price.
Development happens on a staging URL you can watch daily. Before launch we test on real devices, run accessibility checks against WCAG 2.2 AA, verify every form endpoint, and confirm analytics and conversion tracking fire correctly.
Launch is the start of the work, not the end. We monitor Search Console for crawl errors, watch Core Web Vitals field data as real traffic hits, and fix what shows up. That month is included.
We do not do 48-hour turnarounds, we do not resell white-label work to an offshore team, and we do not lock clients into proprietary platforms they cannot leave. If you need to fire us, you keep the site.
Most small business websites in LA land between $8,000 and $20,000 for a 5–15 page site. Landing pages start around $3,000. Ecommerce and multi-location builds run $18,000 to $85,000. LA rates sit roughly 15–25% above the national average because of local salary costs, so a $2,000 quote from an LA-based agency almost always means the work is being subcontracted elsewhere.
Five to eight weeks for a standard small business site, eight to fourteen for a larger marketing site with SEO work. The single biggest cause of delay is content — copy, photography and legal review sitting on the client side. Agencies that promise two weeks are using a template and skipping discovery.
No. We are based in Downtown LA and happy to meet if you are local, but every project we run works fine remotely. Roughly half our LA clients we have never met face to face.
Yes. Most of our work is LA County and Orange County, but we take projects nationally. Local matters for SEO strategy and market knowledge, not for the build itself.
You do. Code, design files, domain, hosting account and all content. We hand over admin credentials at launch and there is no license fee to keep using what you paid for.
That is a large share of what we do. We run a fixed-price audit first, then quote only the fixes that will move something. Rebuilding a site that is basically working is usually the wrong call.
A scoring framework and the questions that separate real agencies from resellers.
What each service covers, what it costs and how long it takes.
Nine years of independent juries and what the work behind them looked like.
A 45-minute call, no deck, no pitch. If a new site is not the answer we will tell you what is.
